Sociology is the study of “social life”. Students will learn how people act, react, and interact in their everyday lives and under extraordinary circumstances. Students will also study various social problems and the impact these problems have on society. Sociology will be helpful to students considering a career in the pathways of Health Sciences and Family & Human services.

American History is a full year survey course, beginning with the Progressive Era of the early 1900’s, and ending with current day issues. Students will examine changes in America’s economy and society, as well as its role in world affairs. The development of critical thinking and team skills will be emphasized throughout the year. This course will be helpful for careers in all of the pathways.
